ABOUT
On January 19th, 2008 my life changed in the most unexpected way. At the very tender age of 33, I suffered a stroke. My recovery that followed was a tremendous two year journey that involved re-learning some of the simple day to day tasks that most people take for granted; things like walking, talking, dressing and writing. Tasks, that today, I have (for the most part) mastered and that I most grateful for.
Besides a second chance at life, I am also grateful for the amazing support of the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Without their fundraising efforts for further medical research and development into Heart disease and Stroke, I may not have the experienced the same recovery; I may not have even survived. I am extremely proud and honoured to be a Survivor Ambassador and an avid volunteer for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
But this site is for all the Survivors, not just those who suffer from Heart & Stroke, but those who have survived or are living with any debilitating or life threatening diseases such as Cancer, MS, Diabetes, COPD, Alzheimer's, Brain Injury, the list goes on, but our suffering does not have to.
I don’t just want to celebrate my life, but to help create more survivors. I also want to show fellow survivors that we don’t have to merely “survive”, that despite our medical disabilities, we can enjoy life and thrive!
Thank you all for your support!
Cheers!
